Karen Johnstone

I completed my RYT200 in July 2023 at Manipura Power Yoga where I began practicing yoga in 2016. Outside the studio, I enjoy indoor and outdoor rock climbing, as well as martial arts which I practiced in a Shaolin Temple accredited studio. I also toured as a dancer with a salsa club, well versed in ballroom dancing and I practiced gymnastics as a teen.

I graduated with a Spanish Major/Music Minor from Central Connecticut State University, after which I toured as a singer/keyboard player in the styles of reggae, bossa nova and jazz. I have published a self-produced album called The Same Day by Strawberry Brown. I am a professional interpreter in Spanish and Portuguese, tutors Spanish, and loves all things metaphysical.

Combining sound with meditation, language with music, I always find ways to dissolve boundaries and connect with others. I enjoy astrology, natal astro-chart reading, the fools journey, feng shui, Taoism, Zen meditation, Korean, Sanskrit, tropical plants, trees, aquariums, the Gospel, crystals, essential oils, and the secret mysteries.
